I NEED YOU ALL TO DROP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT THIS FUCKING SECOND AND MAKE TIME FOR THIS.
i might be the last person to hear about it, i don't know, but I fired up this random game from my ExoDOS collection, Interpose, and found out that it's an early furry game from 1995, and a pretty good shmup, and has an incredibly banging soundtrack, but i was absolutely not prepared for what happened when I just left the menu music playing and it turned out that
THEY COMPOSED AN ORIGINAL SYNTHPOP SONG WITH LYRICS FOR A GAME ABOUT A CATBOY SAVING THE GALAXY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. IT GOES HARD AS HELL. MANDATORY CLICK.
i legitimately lost my shit when the vocals started and if you don't believe me you can check the VOD. this is a certified eurodisco planet of the bass banger, complete with lyrics that aren't quite the best english. my best guess at the words below, but the wild thing is that despite it's heroic tone, it's just a weird teenage rumination on the inevitability of death.
this fucks fully. nothing any of us has done is as sincere as this and we need to step up. we got left in the dust by these norwegian kids before Spiceworld even came out
"Fairytale"
Composed by Voltage Controlled Music (Lars Kristian Aasbrenn)
Vocals by Jonas Groth
Once upon a time
So goes the story in your mind
And you tell it to your child
Who cannot sleep
The story isn't true
But somehow reminding you
There is something in this life
You try to (seek)
Don't say you never thought of why
Or, even stranger
How you got onboard
In this fairytale
One day you're gone
You can't deny
But you'll get over it
You're used to it
Technology goes far
We know each planet, every star
All your questions will be answered
If you ask
Still you wonder why
You get older and you die
And you fade from truth to dream
Behind your mask
Don't say you never thought of why
Or, even stranger
How you got onboard
In this fairytale
One day you're gone
You can't deny
But you'll get over it
You're used to it
[bridge]
Don't say you never thought of why
Or, even stranger
How you got onboard
In this fairytale
One day I'm gone
I can't deny
But I get over it
'cause I'm used to it
